First Data, which is now part of Fiserv, Visa and Samsung Electronics, will present a new point of sale solution with SoftPOS during IFA 2019.

The IFA is one of the most important technology fairs in the industry, in it we can know all the news and great innovations of large companies such as Samsung, Huawei, LG and others, as well as startups that seek to show new technologies for the future.

In the event they will present this new point of sale solution. The functionality is enabled on mobile devices that use NFC; the merchant’s phone will have the ability to capture contactless transactions from cards, other mobile phones with NFC, as well as any device, that have Near Field Commnication as a communication protocol.

The SoftPOS allows payments without contact and for any amount through a smartphone or tablet, with the same functions of a traditional payment terminal, but without adding any peripherals. The first stage of the pilot will be in Poland and will take place at the end of 2019. After this series of tests, the program will be extended to the EMEA and APAC regions.
